To achieve its goal, the SBCAP focuses on outreach efforts to businesses to make them aware of new and existing regulations.

SBCAP encourages businesses to use pollution prevention (waste reduction) as a means of achieving compliance and reducing their overall regulatory burden whenever possible. Prevention is often the most cost effective way to deal with environmental compliance issues.

• Interactive Database or WM-ID The Environmental Research Tool allows access to environmental information maintained by the VT DEC on a number of programs (hazardous waste manifest database, spills, ust, brownfields, stormwater permits, contaminated sites) in real time!
• Newsletters (from VTDEC and EPA concerning: regulatory updates, workshops, alerts, press releases, report complaints, etc.)
